Alterations Terms & Conditions
Scope of Work
CAL Customs Ltd. Co. agrees to provide clothing alterations and related services to their clients. Alterations and Services may include: hemming, fitting, adapting, minor repairs, steaming/pressing, measurements.
Alterations are done in ways to maintain the original garment design/style and construction. Any work that would change the design/style or construction will be subject to a liability waiver and are nonrefundable. No bridal/grooms-wear, military/police uniforms, re-cuts, or more than two (2) size difference. Garment(s) must be clean or newly purchased. If newly purchased, consider that garment may shrink or stretch after first wash.
Turn Around Time
- Subject to staff discretion and workload.
- One-two (1-2) week average for casual and businesswear.
- Two (2) week minimum for formalwear.
- Two plus (2+) week for repairs and work that requires a supply order.
- Rushes NOT guaranteed and done on a case-by-case basis. May be subject to a Rush Fee of 50% on total alteration cost.
Cost
- Work must be approved by staff before payment and garment(s) are taken.
- Pricing varies due to garment construction and complexity of alteration.
- Payment due in full at time of garment drop-off. Cash, card, and tap-to-pay accepted
Fittings
- Fittings are encouraged to get the clearest measurements and understanding of client needs.
- Can take between five (5) minutes to one (1) hour, depending on amount of garments and work needed.
- Any work that wasn’t measured by staff is nonrefundable.
- Allow for two (2) fittings for formal and adaptivewear.
- Recommend to bring in the shoes that will be worn with hem alterations and to bring/wear undergarments/shapewear/support layers that will be worn with fit and formalwear alterations.
Pick-Up
- Alteration will be ready by date and time determined at fitting/drop-off.
- A ticket will be given at fitting/drop-off to use as proof of service when picking up.
- Staff will contact client of any delay and once the alteration has been completed.
- Client will have sixty (60) days to pickup before garment(s) are considered abandoned.
- Recommended to try garment(s) on at pickup in case an adjustment is needed.
- One (1) adjustment allowed if fit isn’t correct at pickup, must be done within two (2) weeks of completion date and will only be done on original alteration work preformed.
Cancellation
Any client requested cancellations must happen within three (3) hours of fitting/drop-off. If staff cancels (unable to complete the alteration in a satisfactory way, emergency, etc.), garments will be returned to client in original state and full payment will be returned in original form.
Refund Policy
Due to the nature of the alterations, most work is nonrefundable as the garment cannot be returned to it’s original measurement or replaced. Any refundable work needs to be requested within two (2) weeks of completion date, will not exceed the cost of the alteration, and is subject to approval.
NONREFUNDABLE
Work that changes the design/style or construction the garment(s). Work that is not reversible or adjustable
Garments that were not measured by staff. Body measurements, pressing, steaming, and retail sales.
PARTIAL REFUND
Work that is adjustable (ex. A jean hem was brought up too high but can be converted to a different hem type to achieve the right length).
FULL REFUND
Work that is reversible (ex. Reverting a seam that was taken in back to it’s original measurement).
